Homeland- Season 1
Rating: A
Ages: 14 and Up
Homeland is the most recent TV series that I have completed and I have to say that I was entertained... Alot. First off let me put this out there right now, Homeland is not really a sitting on the edge of seat type of show. By that I mean there isn't alot of guns shooting, bombs blowing up and all that jazz that usually go along with these types of shows. This show is very well written and keeps you in intrigued as if you were trying to solve the mysteries it brings yourself.
Homeland is from the producers of the Fox hit show "24" so you can get a basic idea of what this show is somewhat like without watching it and have had some knowledge about 24. However, this is on Showtime so it is a little more intense and some scenes can catch you off guard if your not really paying attention.
Homeland is a show about an Amercian Prisoner of War named Nicholas Brody played by Damian Lewis (Dreamcatcher) and his return home from his time "served" in the Iraq war. However, a very passionate agent named Carrie Mathison played by Claire Danes (StarDust) is suspected of Brody to have been turned into an Al Qaeda terrroist who plans to attack the United States. The entire season follows the heroic return of a POW while Carrie tries to uncover the truth behind his disappearance.
This season was very enjoyable to watch and had me hooked from the start. As I mentioned above there isn't a whole lot of action that goes on but it has its own unique way of keeping you hooked. "Homeland is well made and gripping...almost impossible to resist."- New York Times. Im in agreement with this and hope you get a chance to watch this show, you won't be dissappointed.
