Dexter- Season 2

Dexter- Season 2

 Rating: B+
Ages: 16 and Up

Dexter Season 2 brings the same A game as it did in the first season.  So you may be wondering why I gave this season a lower grade than the first.  Well, a new character in this season, Lila Tourney (Jamie Murray) plays Dexters "sponser" and to be blunt she drives me nuts. Maybe thats how her role was depicted but I was not a fan.  At times I had to turn away from my TV when she was on cause I couldn't handle her role or acting.

I feel this season is more suspenseful than the first.  The FBI gets called in as they are track the "Bay Harbor Butcher" which is Dexter's killings brought to surface (literally).  As Dexter continues to satisfy what he calls his "Dark Passenger" he also starts to unravel more and more about his spotty childhood.  While becoming  acqauinted with his girlfriend Rita Bennett (Julie Benz) and her kids he still juggles work and all his unique hobbies.  Futhermore, one of Miami Metro's own: Sgt. James Doakes played by Erik King suspects something off with Dexter and becomes interested in his personal life and begins to stalk Dexter after work hours.  Doakes has a very unique set of skills that lead him to uncovering some unusal things about Dexter and he finds himself dealing with those findings face to face.

All the same elements of the first season are in this one too such as the swearing and some blood. I didnt notice it as much this season, however, maybe I simply just got used to it from the previous.  All the stars are back, and in this season they start to bring in Dexter's co-workers a little more which I liked too.  I would have given this season a higher grade but as mentioned above I didn't like one of the characters.  The suspense in this will leave you dying for more Dexter and wanting season three sooner rather than later.  Once again I hope you enjoy the post and more importantly the show.

Dexter- Season 1

Dexter- Season 1

Rating: A
Ages: 16 and Up

Dexter played by Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) is unlike anything else on TV right now.  While most murder solving shows can solve the crime in one full episode (45 minutes); Dexter follows one serial murderer for the whole season giving more to the viewer. With a different twist on the show, you can easily find yourself addicted to this show within the very first couple of episodes.

Dexter Morgan not only works for the Miami Metro but he also has some unique hobbies of his own.  While trying to balance his time between being a full time employee, he also juggles his peersonal life and the life he trys to live to look normal.  This season follows the killings of the Ice Truck Killer who leaves the victims neatly placed in unique spots.  The team at Miami Metro (including Dexter) is full of great characters that easy to like. Also placed at Miami Metro is Dexter's sister Deborah Morgan played by Jennifer Carpenter (Quarintine) who is an up an coming police officer trying to learn the ropes of the system.

Dexter is easily one of the best TV shows out there right now, however, it is seen on Showtime so (personally) I can only see season by season instead of episode of episode. This show at times can get pretty bloody and violent so it may not be for the weak stomached person.  My only problem with this show is how ridiculous some of the language can get. Swearing doesn't bother me at all but when its overdone like this show does (and it does often) it hurts the rest of the show. Other than that I find nothing wrong with this show and hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.
